In the book The Stars Are Fire by Anita Shreve here's the quote where lint is mentioned:
Grace tries her book again, but reads the same sentence three times. "Have you ever been married?" she asks, pulling a piece of lint from her powder blue sweater.
This novel is just as good as the rest of Shreve's books. I think I've read them all, they're so good!
